1998
THE EARLY YEARS
Mitchell Robinson was born on April 1st, 1998, in Pensacola, Florida. He began his journey in prep sports at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola.
2014
TRANSITIONS & GROWTH
Robinson transferred to Landry-Walker College and Career Preparatory High School in New Orleans as a sophomore. By his junior year, he found himself at Chalmette High School in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. It was during this time that Robinson experienced a significant growth spurt, shooting up from 6'2" to an impressive 7'0".
2016
HIGH SCHOOL DOMINATION
As a junior at Chalmette, Robinson showcased his skills, averaging 20.9 points, 13.6 rebounds, 8.1 blocks, and 2 steals per game. He earned numerous accolades, making the All-District, all-Metro, and all-State teams.
2017
SENIOR YEAR TRIUMPHS
In his senior year at Chalmette, Robinson continued his impressive performance, averaging 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots per game. He garnered attention nationally, receiving honors such as Naismith Trophy All-America honorable mention and Max Preps All-America honorable mention.
2018
NBA DRAFT DECISION
Robinson initially committed to playing collegiate basketball at Texas A&M but later de-committed to join Western Kentucky. However, he chose not to play a game at Western Kentucky, opting to forgo his eligibility and prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft.
ROOKIE SEASON
On June 21, 2018, the New York Knicks selected Robinson in the 2nd round with the 36th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, he made an immediate impact, ranking second in the league in blocked shots with 2.4 per game.
2019
BREAKING RECORDS
Robinson set a Knicks' rookie record with nine blocks in a game on November 11, 2018. In March 2019, he recorded season highs of 19 points and 21 rebounds, becoming the first Knicks' rookie since Willis Reed in 1965 to achieve such a feat. Additionally, he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team.
